About Rue de Lyon Gifts

I was born in Saudi Arabia, lived as a child in New York City, Greenwich Connecticut and Beirut, Lebanon (where I did most of my growing up, and still consider it my heart home!) After college in New York State, I moved to Florence Italy for 7 years.

Eventually, after Florence, I ended up in Seattle, and have now been here 30 years! I'm married to a wonderful man, and we have a delightful son who is majoring in Economics at University of Washington ( he didn't get that from me!), and we have two mildly crazy cats, Pork Chop and Buzz.

Six years ago, after a battle with cancer, I had a long hard look at what I was doing, and what I WANTED to do. Opening a store was a dream I'd always wished for, so I did. And now, after six great years, and hearing more often than I liked " Oh you carry this? I just bought it online!" I've decided to stop paying the overhead, and go online!

I love what I do, surrounding myself with lovely things, going on the buying "hunt" for thaat Item that I think people will love, getting to know the wonderful people of the retail world, and getting to know customers, some of whom have become very good friends.
